Funeral plans

Hi All.
Has anyone taken out a funeral plan recently. Would appreciate some info. Hopefully will not need it for a while.

Try Jennifer Cunningham, I believe they do funeral plans and all other types of insurance.

Try Keith Collyer from Rocomar. This is an insurance plan which you pay monthly. At the age of 65 my partner took a policy with him and cost 22 euros a month, it does go up slightly each year but in 6 years I think the increase is only 4 euros a month, you do of course pay for the rest of your life. A friends husband died after only making 3 payments and the cost of the funeral was completely paid for unlike most funeral plans. It would depend on your age as if quite young and therefore paying for many years it could work out more expensive but if you are getting on in years you may not ever pay as much as with a normal funeral plan. I have been to several funerals organized by them and was very impressed. Also Keith is available 24/7. Wish I had gone with them instead of Avalon as they definitely weren’t 24 hours, my first experience in Spain and nobody available until 10am by which time I had contacted the police as it was a sudden death, they sent the doctor and funeral director and the body had been removed before they even contacted me. I have also heard that you can go direct to any Tanatorio and arrange your own funeral which is a lot cheaper.
