Hi

Can anyone recommend where we can buy a block of marzipan (mazapán) for a making a Christmas cake.

Tried the Overseas/international shop, Mercadona, Consum etc but either I’d need a mortgage or they don’t sell it.

Thanks

Google how to make marzipan, seems quite straightforward.

Hi,

They sell it in Pck and Pay in Guardamar. Also by Funcakes on Amazon.es , it's 19.99€ a kilo so 5€ per 250g.

Thanks for the recommendations. A very kind person has been in touch with blocks that are not required.

At that price I imagine it may be mainly sugar and almond flavoring. I have made my own for years, the process s very simple, if hard work, but is more expensive than any kind of commercial product, due to the volume of actual ground almonds it contains. Most commercial is very high sugar content, with a proportion of almonds and lots of almond essence.
