Hi everyone hope you are all keeping well in these strange times. My husband and I were thinking about coming to Rafal for Christmas.  Would the shops/bars still be open? Can you get a dinner out Christmas day? And lastly are there many C19 restrictions in place.

Many thanks for taking the time to read my post.

I live in Rafal ,Orihuela, and presume some bars will open but extremely unlikely to get Xmas dinner there, but in the English restaurants in Almoradi you will,  re C19, very low risk, people being very vigilant here, masks in shops and inside bars until drinks arrive and where people in close proximity like markets.  Also clinics in Almoradi for test to go back to the UK , if still needed then. Hope this helps.   Ps, not sure about the supermarket being open on Xmas Day.

Thank you so much for your help. Are the masks mandatory? Guess I will just have to get all the food in for Christmas day 😊

Hello

Yes, masks are still mandatory unless you can guarantee the safe social distance. Remember that Xmas here is only that one day holiday, everything is pretty normal again by 26th Dec and Spanish Xmas day holiday  is 6th Jan...3 Kings day, when again, everything is closed

Cheers

Hi Rach69,

Masks are currently mandatory in all indoor situations and also outdoors if you can't maintain social distance of at least 1.5m.  In bars and restaurants, you have to enter wearing your mask and can remove it after you've placed your order.  If you need to leave your table to use the toilets, you have to put it on again and, of course, you have to wear it when you leave the establishment.

We almost bought a house in Rafal, nice little village, hope you have a lovely Christmas!

Kind regards,

Kim
