Hola todos,I recently asked for some advice here regarding the broken on/ off valve in our meter box ,and who you would think is responsible, etc, thanks for the replies. Now I have been trying to find out who the water company is by looking at bank statements,no receipients name there, and contacted SUM,who we pay the water company through, who told me to go onto www.nuestra factura.com ,and when I go to look at invoices,it tells me to choose a company?!How can i choose a company when i already have a water supplier, how can i randomly choose one of them on the list?and, why doesn't it just show the supplier is.Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Ray

Hi Ray,

it's probably ask the neighbours again as I would think all the surrounding properties will be supplied by the same water company, well I assume that but it is Spain!

I'm also assuming you don't have a community president and administrators to ask?

Aitch.

Do you not get a quarterly bill? The name should be on there. Who is SUM who you pay your water bills through? Is that a private company or solicitors or financial adviser? Surely they'd know who the water supplier is.

My bank account statement simply says Servicio de agua. However, if I click on the payment and then more details, it then comes up with the account number and supplier, in our case Hidraqua SA.

Are you on Facebook?  If so, you'll see active groups on there, particularly busy regarding the recent problems with the water supply up on the hill.

I'm in town, but my water is supplied by Hidraqua, now to be known as Veolia. You could try them.

I know that three municipalities have interests up there, so again, you could try enquiring at your town hall.

Having said all that, my first port of call would have been to speak to my neighbours, as has already been suggested.

Hello again,so SUMA collect the water,IBI,and other taxes, and to see your bills as its all digital now, you go to nuestrafacturas.com,and choose your water company,or supplier,so the only one i could recognise was SUM,so my info was all there regarding invoices, but all they show is my address, water consumed,SUM's contact details, but no other names. As for bank statements,it says creditors name: SUM,my name,as debtor, and below Cobro Fra,then six numbers relating to the latest factura. If you translate Cobro Fra it could mean Cold charge/ collection ?! Anyway I hope I haven't bored you too much, and I will just message a few neighbours for some info.

You only pay for rubbish collection on your Suma bills plus taxes. Water bills will be paid directly to the company who supply's your area. Probably Hidraqua which is now Veolia. (They are a massive global company.)

Anything on the supply pipe to your meter is the responsibility of the water company. Anything after the meter is yours. You rent the meter from whoever supplies the water.

Not true for all regions. Some have transferred water charges back to the local authority and are collected by SUMA. Not many places but obviously this one has. There was a post on here a while back that people had received letters from the ayuntamiento saying water bills would now be a municipal charge.
