Banco Sabadell Fees
Hi - Banco Sabadell want to charge me 15 Euro/quarter for their Expansion Account even if I have my salary paid in. Is this correct because I used to receive fee free banking from them? Thanks - Rob

Yes, unfortunately it is. In fact, it was introduced from the first quarter of this calendar year, so if they've only just got around to charging you, you're lucky! Exemptions apply to customers who have a pension paid direct into their account, but because my husband's military pension is paid to our UK account, even transferring some of it every month to our Sabadell account doesn't make us exempt from the quarterly fee. The only way to get around this is to buy another Sabadell product, such as insurance or an investment product.
Sabadell were the first of the Spanish banks to introduce these new charges, but most of the other banks have followed their lead. The only one I know which is fee-free is Cajamar's Wefferente account, but I'd recommend double-checking that before considering moving your account.
Kind regards,
Kim

When I left Sabadell earlier this year, due to their grasping attitude, I found that BBVA totally on line account asks for no fees at all, with no rules about input. Try it: I am very content with it. Coincidentally, these two banks sit on either side of the road!

Sabadell introduced this charge last December... They obviously want to encourage you to take other services.. If you take their house insurance my understanding is that the charges are waived

The thing is that their house insurance may be as expensive as the yearly fees!

I understood that their rates were 120 euro a year INCLUDING 60 euro for the home insurance.
I managed to stop their home insurance by canceling the home insurance by registred mail.
The strange thing is that untill now they do not charge anything. I did not ask them why...
My income is coming directly to their bank.
