Hola Amigos,

I was in Rojales, yesterday evening Friday 25th October 2019 and I lost my Black iPhone 6s Plus in one of the bars or pubs around this area, I may have given it to bar staff to charge and left without it. In the spirit of being in the wonderful country that is 🇪🇸, Alcohol had been consumed and yes I am an idiot abroad.....! The phone has cherished images and I would really appreciate any help in locating the phone and happy to pay a small reward for assistance in finding my phone. I was in Mokai MusiClub Rojales, and the bars in that street.

I am visiting family who live in spain and really need to find my phone today (sat 25th)

Many thanks,

Muchas Gracias

Sincerely

An idiot abroad

Just a thought, if it's still charged. Try calling your number. If its in a bar you may have a chance. Your photos are maybe on I.cloud

Android phones do an automatic cloud backup, unless you disable that feature. With an iPhone I think you have to turn that feature on. If yours was on, then all the photos etc should be in iCloud.

Good day,

Many thanks for the prompt responses, I have retraced my steps and no one appears to have seen or found the phone. Although it is still ringing and I have sent my messages to the phone in both Spanish and English and also advising I am happy to pay for the phone to be returned. It must be somewhere and on charge if it’s still ringing, it’s jut very frustrating.

I was in the place above and also this place and the place across the road. I have asked in all 3, if anyone has any local spanish contacts who may be able to assist, happy to pay them for their time and efforts. I leave in a few days and just want the phone back (realise that is looking unlikely now-sadly).

Getting a replacement won’t be easy as travelling onwards before heading back to UK so will be without phones until then.

In any case thank you for taking the time to respond.

iPhone 6s should have updated to iOS 13 at some point last month. Default is backing up the iPhone to iCloud. The phone asks for permission to back-up after a few weeks giving the option to turn cloud back up off.

Go to icloud.com Log-in with your Apple ID. Have a look in the photos folder for you images.

Best part of iOS 13 is iPhones are now trackable when they are turned on. They no longer require internet access to be tracked.

Use the Find my iPhone App on iCloud. Have a look and it should tell you where the iPhone was last located.

You have the option to report the iPhone as lost. This enables the tracking feature. If the iPhone has internet access it will give an immediate location.

If internet access is not available it will notify the Apple network the iPhone is missing. This takes a bit longer for the location to be reported. This step requires another iPhone or iPad to be near the missing iPhone. The other Apple Device will detect the missing iPhone and send a notification to iCloud where the iPhone is located.

In iCloud you also have the option to lock the iPhone, send messages to the iPhone and finally erase all contents and data from the the iPhone.

Find My Phone is reasonable accurate it locates the device to about 10 metres of its location.

If you have access to another Apple (or mobile) device. Using iCloud/Find My Phone you can go to the last location and have the iPhone ring until its found.

If the iPhone is still on iOS 12 most of the above steps will work when the iPhone has internet access.
