Hi all

Does anyone know if there is a 'Governing Body' for Lawyers/Solicitors in Spain?

A Legal Regulatory or Sanctioning Authority/Organisation that Lawyers have to be part of to carry out their role as an official Lawyer/Solicitor?

In the UK we have the Financial Ombudsman for financial complaints and wondered how we escalate a complaint against a Lawyer/Solicitor in Spain or if indeed there are any escalation procedures in Spain as I am fed up hearing and also being treated (in my experience) unfairly.  The Lawyers seem to be OK with taking certain monies yet never completing on the case with no fall back on explanation or a chance for us to complain.

Any sensible advice would be great as I do not believe 'that is how it is and nothing can be done' as I keep hearing story after story of people paying good money and getting nothing in return regarding their case.

Many thanks in advance.

There was something in the euro weekly a few weeks back about a new governing body that has been set up I will try and find the article and get back to you.

I agree with your comments about the way they get away with thing's
