Advice on Pet insurance
We are moving to Rojales at the end of this year with our 5yr old cocker spaniel. Can any advise on pet insurance?
Cost and companies please.
Thanks Terry
If you go to the local vet and ask in there they may have a yearly fee you can pay which will cover everything or mostly everything you will need during the year including check ups, vacinations and treatments.
I am not resident but a friend here in Quesada said they use the local vet for their dog and when they told me what they get for the money I could hardly believe it. That was Veterpet near consum supermarket in Dona Pepa, Quesada but there are no doubt lots of good vets in the area .
The vets in UK seems like such a money making business in comparison. I have cat insurance in the UK and what it costs for only use in Emergencies is an awful lot and I have never used it and the excess makes it not worth using for most treatments.
I looked into seeing if the vets in the UK do a similar set up to Spain and of course they don't.
If I were you I would see what is included in the vets yearly cover before starting to paying any pet insurance that you may never use.

Hi tigerfeet,
Pet insurance depends fees depends on breed, weight and age.
FYI, Liberty Seguros offers Pet insurance as from €75 year with coverage for public liability up to 200.000€ and vet fees up to €1.000 in case of accidents (both free choice vets or associated vets) to € 225 including vet fees in case of illness.
