Hi Everyone

My fiancé is from the Ukraine. Currently she is in Germany attending her daughters wedding.  For this she had a letter from the local police in the town where she is staying that her daughter arranged. She is in Quarantine until the 30th July. My question is can my fiancé travel from Germany to Alicante after the wedding so we can have a holiday together here in Spain?

I have researched the internet but I am very confused as there is so much information. I really would appreciate any help.

Thanks

John

I don't understand the need for the letter as Ukrainian citizens have the right of free travel in the Schengen area, is there perhaps a quarantine issue for Ukrainians entering Germany which meant seeking written permission?

If that's the case then if she's served any quarantine period demanded then there should be no problem with onward travel to Spain but the letter might come in handy in proving that she isn't fresh out of Ukraine.

The airline should know under what conditions they can accept passengers from anywhere.

Certainly not your everyday situation!

Hi,

I may be able to help you a little with this.

My girlfriend is also from the Ukraine but now holds a uk passport.

However my understanding of all of this is spain belongs to eu and so does Germany, if she got into Germany without a Schengen visa she would also be allowed in spain Covid allowing.

Direct from the ukrain should also be ok Covid allowing, I did do some research on this for my girlfriends mum who is still in the Ukraine. Schengen visa rules were relaxed a year or so ago regarding Ukraine to uk. Not certain how it works Ukraine to spain, I suspect if she needed a visa for Germany she would need one for spain but I think there fairly easy to get..( not allowing for spanish red tape)..

Hope this helps

Thanks Terry

My fiance has visited me several time but not since the Covid virus. She got to Germany without a visa thanks to her daughter who provided a letter about her wedding and from the local police.  She had to self isolate though for 14 days. We will see what happens after the wedding.

Thanks

Regards

John
