If you have an old repeat prescription slip from the U.K., it will have your NHS number on it.  Years ago the number was on our birth certificates, but progress changed that.  Depending how long it is since you were registered with a U.K. GP, a call to the surgery might elicit it, if yo...

...u’re on their computer records.  Otherwise you could email [email protected] and they may be able to provide it, or tell you how to find it.

If you’re registered here for healthcare with an S1, then the U.K. pays for your healthcare anyway, so I see no reason for you not to receive your booster there.  If not, then you could run into problems

Good luck, E.

Many thanks for the post.  I will try to get it from my old surgery in England.

Many thanks for the valuable info on health numbers in England.  I will phone the old surgery tomorrow.  I left England 5 years ago so they may still have my records

One of my sons is trying to arrange a booster jab in England for me but is having problems on line because I only have my English National Insurance number and apparently everyone in England has a health insurance number which I have never heard of and which you have to quote to get the jab.

It’s the number that was on the medical card that’s issued at birth and often used for hospital appointments etc in the U.K.

I don’t know how long you are going to be in the U.K. for, if it’s only for a short period of a month or so I personally would wait until you return to Spain to get your third jab. You  will need to register that U.K. jab with the Spanish Health Service to go on your records here, to enable you to get a certificate showing you’ve had 3 of 3 jabs. It’s far easier to have everything done in the one country and a lot less paperwork and time spent on the telephone and waiting in queues.

Obviously if your spending the winter months in the U.K. then having a booster is more important and you can register your original  Spanish vaccinations with the NHS whilst you’re there. I believe from another poster they need full details of both jabs, when and where you had them, types of vaccine and batch numbers to provide the QR codes you will require to obtain a covid pass.

Once you return to Spain, the details of your third jab will then need to be registered here at your local salud.

As I am only staying 2 weeks perhaps I should chance it and get my 3rd jab back here in Spain early Jan.  Thanks once again for the valuable info
