From 0400 BST on Monday 4 October, the amber and green lists will be merged into one list.

Anyone who's fully vaccinated will no longer have to take a PCR test before travelling back to England from one of these countries.

That includes all of Europe and many other popular destinations.

They will still have to take a PCR test two days after arrival, but this will be replaced by a cheaper and simpler lateral flow test later in October.

So I assume you still have to buy the 2 day lateral flow test before returning to the UK after October, to put the code on the locator form.  Not much change then!

No change,  still paying for a code to put on a form.

Double jabbed recognised by the UK so its basically for people who have been vaccinated in the UK and have gone on holiday not residents who got jabbed in Europe?

The change is, no fit to fly test, antigen day 2 test rather than PCR, presently around £80 for both, after late October £30.

That's in England, I understand Scotland and Wales still require pre flight and post flight tests at the moment, not sure what the requirements are for NI.

Martyn, the same rules apply to fully vaccinated travellers from all countries, as long as they have had approved vaccines.

Yes that what I said, vaccines appoved by the UK. Problem is the UK only approves vaccines administered in the UK (there was a big discussion on here about it somewhere) so it may not apply to residents of europe?

No Martyn, it is not only approved vaccines administered in the UK, take a look at the UK Gov website regarding vaccinated travellers coming to the UK, it explains in detail the new rules after 4th October.

No you don’t have to have a fit to fly test from 4th oct to get in the Uk but you still have to order the pcr test, they did say they were going to make it a lateral flow test but as yet haven’t seen a date for that.
