has there been any more news regarding UK driving license in Spain from the UK
No.
There was a very brief announcement maybe a couple of weeks ago but it was a rhubarb rhubarb rhubarb repeat of the last one.

Like I said, rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb!
The British Ambassador made the following announcement I quote " the important legal aspects of the Driving Licence issue have been agreed. The first paper has to be drawn up in English and Spanish, then Submitted to the Ministry in Spain and UK for review and checking" therefore it is subject to comment and amendment at the second round of talks, he further went on to say that that above process is likely but not certain to be complete by the end of July. In the meantime he strongly suggested we all continue with our driving lessons and pass the Spanish test. I cannot say for certain, but my experience is that the full ratification by both governments to be in agreement is likely to be months away. Even when it is ratified we still have no indication of what the UK government will have agreed to on our behalf, with the current weak government I fear that Spain will win the day. I personally am taking the test which is onerous and extremely difficult to do, Had the medical studying for the Theory, then the practical, all will be on hold for August as I am told by driving school nothing happens in August.
