Tourist Rentals in Almoradi
It has been discussed on here, at some length, the restrictions on rentals in various areas. Almoradi council is bucking the trend by proposing to open any apartment, not just those on the ground floor, to tourism. Rental licenses will still be required but there will be no restrictions on applying for one except that they meet the necessary requirements. PSOE and others have objected pointing out the large increases in rents in many towns due to tourist rental but the council points out that apartments and community housing, which were stopped during the last financial crisis, have now been completed and have all the amenities designed to attract tourism.
They have also agreed to enlarge the space allowed for commercial properties which has meant big supermarkets and shops could not expand and have even doubled the amount of space to be allowed for such establishments if they are a corner building.
