Why is it best to have health insurance in Spain without copayments?

Searching for health insurance in Spain? To make a good decision and look after your personal well-being in the short and long term, it's important to take a number of factors into account, including whether or not the insurance has copayments.

Copayments are the amount that the policyholder has to pay when using certain medical services included in their policy. This is an additional cost and independent of the premium to be paid, so the cost of the health insurance may increase over time.

These extra payments vary depending on the service used and the client's contract. They're usually applied to general and specialist medical consultations, diagnostic tests, special treatments, hospital admissions and emergencies. The most expensive tend to be hospital admissions and advanced diagnostic tests.

ASSSA guarantees its policyholders' peace of mind by offering medical, surgical and hospital cover without copayments in their health insurance. This means that on payment of the premium, the insured can access the guaranteed services without added costs and go to general medicine, specialists and emergencies from day one.

Plus, as it has no copayments, ASSSA is the ideal private health insurance if you want to apply for a visa or residence permit in Spain, as this is one of the essential conditions for obtaining these documents; it also meets all the requirements of consulates and immigration offices.

Alongside all this, ASSSA insurances offer other exceptional benefits for looking after your health, including life cover, no increase in the premium as you get older and multilingual personalised, professional attention. The company also has an extensive medical directory with excellent clinics and specialists for you to choose from without waiting lists.

Not necessarily the best but a requirement for residency application.

Hello, Yes, I agree with what you say about health insurance, but I am 77 and when I asked my Allianz agent for health insurance recently she said, "Sorry you are too old!"
