We quite rightly cancelled our ferry crossing this summer.    Then in September it sounded as we where able to travel through spain from Rojales to Santandar to the ferry.   So on the 2 Oct rebooked the ferry sailing on the 2 Dec intending to travel the day before and stopping in a hotel that night or if needbe sleep in the car.   We are stopping in a empty house for the 14 day quarantine.to make sure we do everything  correctly.in the UK.   We live in Spain and I need to know can we drive to Santandar  on the 1 dec without being sent back.

Hello

So as I understand it, you're travelling to the UK for a holiday -If the borders between regions are still closed , then I would say no.. if you are stopped when crossing into other regions for example ,.what valid  reason would you give for travelling? I don't ' see the regional border restrictions being lifted anytime soon - but that's just my opinion.

The restrictions change/extend/update  often & very quickly here so it is impossible to know where we will stand by Dec.

If anyone has anymore info on the subject I hope they will post on here

Cheers

Hi tiler,

If you're resident in Spain, rather than the UK, I agree with Elinspain, I don't believe this is a valid reason for travelling.  That said, do you have anything in writing from your bank that you could offer the Spanish police as proof of your need to travel?  Unlike Spain, it's quite possible to open a UK bank account online - but the Spanish police may not know that.......  ;o)

The bottom line is that border closures currently prevent you from travelling without valid reason - and with the varying curfew times across different regions, potentially you would draw attention to yourselves if you were on the roads any time between 10pm and 7am (you'd have to check the individual curfew times of the regions through which you need to travel); depending on the time of your sailing, this may be a problem for you.  Ultimately, it's a risk upon which only you can decide.

Kind regards,

Kim
