OK, we have had very little, and by very little I mean extremely little, rain in this area. Dust is getting ridiculous so does anyone know of a way to keep it down?

This morning, I cleaned the TV with distilled water when it was cold then wiped it over with a lint free cloth. Perfect. Also used dust limiting (so it says on the can) spray polish on the furniture and speakers etc. Perfect.

Turned he telly on this evening and the screen is covered in dust. You can run your fingers over the furniture that was sprayed this morning and it leaves a trail. My PC screen, cleaned with special spray, is covered in dust again.

Anyone use anything to keep the dust down for at least a couple of days without it coming back or is this just a losing battle?

Losing battle ( methinks) unless of course........? Others may have found a solution. ( My cleaner sez, stop shedding skin, windows closed, live in vacuum environment, anti-static dusters & other useful advice.) She wouldn´t tell me the others as she said, "I´d be out of a job!")   V

So much can depend on the local environment, where I am I'm pretty much surrounded by orange orchard and my dust issues are absolutely nothing like what you are describing, once a week dusting usually suffices. The house is nothing like hermetically sealed and doors and windows are open most days until the temperature dictates otherwise. Also, although under an open sided car port my car collects very little either.

Q: how exactly does a polish supposedly 'limit dust which generally falls downwards onto surfaces?

We actually polish very little as we've found that more often than not polishes do more harm than good and if anything tend to attract the stuff!

Ignore it, after seven years you won’ t see it any more. We back onto a pine forest and are effectively surrounded by it. Everything becomes covered with yellow pollen , complete waste of time trying to remove it.!

Same here! It is what it is. There’s too much fun to be had and too little time to be worrying about dusting.
