We received our passports with our visas in and are arriving in Spain beginning of August and apply for our TIE’s. We are coming back to England beginning of September for my daughters wedding though. Does anyone know that if we haven’t got possession of our TIE’s by then will we have any problems re-entering Spain?

Once you’ve applied for your TIE’s you’ll receive a confirmation document with a reference number on it, you can use this to re-enter and then collect your TIE cards when they’re ready.  We did this.

We have had our appointment and all went well. Now we are sat back waiting for our passports back to travel back to Spain. Can any one tell us what to expect back from the consulate? We lifted them two pre paid envelopes . We have been tracking the application and it just said posted and then Resoled?

Hi,

I keep seeing misinformation regarding the use of the S1, stating that it cannot be used for a Non Lucrative Visa application - IT CAN!

When you contact the NHSBSA to request your S1, you can ask them to send it to your UK address, so that you can use it to prove healthcare when you go for your NLV appointment at the Spanish Consulate in the UK.  If you qualify for an S1, you do NOT need private health insurance to apply for the NLV - please see this Spanish Government website:

https://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/londres/en/ServiciosConsulares/Paginas/Consular/Visado-de-residencia-no-lucrativa.aspx

from which I've taken the following extract:

"6. Health insurance.....  A receipt of registration of S1 form on the web of Social Security is also accepted as medical insurance for non-lucrative visa.  To register S1 form please access the following link (Internet Explorer does not support this web, please use alternative browsers):

https://tramites.seg-social.es/acceso/registro-s-1-cobertura-asistencia-sanitaria-espa%C3%B1a.html "

Once you've registered your S1 online, you take the original and a copy of the email confirming your S1 registration to your NLV meeting at the Spanish Consulate - make sure you get your S1 back, so that you can complete the registration once you get to Spain.

Kind regards,

Kim

We used Chris at UPSTICKS, even though they are based in Malaga,he completed ALL the paperwork for us,arranged appointments for Padron and TIE and arranged for one of his representatives to meet us on both occasions, who then translated and guided us through both procedures. He will now contact us next year to start the next application process. His charges were £1000 for both of us ( obviously private health and apostles, we paid separately ).

Fantastic service and worth every penny. Would definitely recommend.

I have just completed my first full year in Spain and am in the renewal process. Like at the start, I have paid my lawyer ( in Malaga) €500+ tax for their services. They will be completing the required translations and completing the forms. ( originally I had a translator in Malaga from the approved list) who had a digital signature so I scanned the docs to her, she translated and scanned them back to me, usually within 24 hours) - really worthwhile.I could have done all  this myself but the lawyers got my appointment to renew my Padron and will once again complete the forms. When appropriate they will arrange my appointment ( like before) to collect my new TIE card? It removes all concerns for me.  As noted above, it is not a cheap process all in, but the help of a reputable law firm gave me peace of mind.

Hi,we have visited our solicitor for the first renewal and handed in all our paperwork which was requested on the help sheet and lawyer ticked it off as correct and handed over 600 euros. Today we had an email requesting a new marriage licence as it has to be no more than 6 months from issue and then sent to the haigh for apostle. The marriage licence was never documented on the guidance sheet and we will never get one in time to renew within 90 days. This evening I have requested a meeting with the lawyer for tomorrow to try to get it resolved,I am hoping that it is a mistake,we have been married for 42 years and our marriage licence was accepted at Manchester for the initial visa
