Hi, Innes is also our lawyer and SHE is dealing with our renewal which has been a little stressful as we have had to supply a marriage licence issued in the last 6 months and apostled which is then sent to the translation services. We used a company in Glasgow who were very efficient and Innes re...

Innes gave us the two options of filing as individuals or as a married couple as we have separate and joint bank accounts and settled to send as a married couple. We will continue to jump through whatever hoops Alicante want as the option of no renewal and then going to 90 days is not what we want . I will keep the forum updated on how our 2 year renewal progresses .

I've never met Ines.  As I said in my earlier post, I dealt with Silvia on a different matter.

Hi great information on the renewal process. Can I ask would they not take print offs of online UK bank statements? I have just submitted my renewal nlv & I've given them printed version of online statements.

Hoping this is enough.

Hi,yes I think they will,we don't do internet banking that is why we had to provide the printed statements. The translation services here in Spain are quite expensive and if we had known about the extra paperwork i.e marriage certificate we would have got that done in the UK as it is cheaper. We haven't heard anymore so hopefully we have now supplied everything they want

Steve and Jan,

I can understand you feeling down, the NLV process at times is a constant drag on your mind.

I started appealing my not getting residence under the withdrawal agreement in June last  year and failed, did anyone not fail in their appeal! So I've had a year of this NLV process on my mind and having just got my car re registered and passing the Spanish theory and driving tests feel like I've finished jumping through all the hoops. And I hope the residence appraisal after one year will be straight forward.

Good luck to you both.

Tony

Hi Tony ,many thanks for the email ,what we cannot understand is that these lawyers have got to ask the consulate our question, surely they deal with these problems all the time and they should know the answers you would think, sounds like you have been busy ,lol , we read somewhere that Spain might allow our driving licences in july we hope so ,i do not think i could go through the theory and driving test ,take care and best wishes ,Steve and Jan

Yes,

This taking a Spanish test is totally, unfair and unecessary. They will have to change or else risk putting off 3rd world countries from coming here to live
