I was fortunate enough to have been in Spain during lockdown. This has however, increased the amount of days that I have and will be staying in the country.

I am due to have another couple of 3 week stays in Spain before the year is out. This would take me beyond the 183 permitted days.

I do not work nor earn any type of income in Spain. I come hear purely to visit my holiday home and to relax.

When counting up the days, are the days when you arrive and depart counted in this total?

Are there any exemptions for days spent due to the lockdown? We had several flights back fo the UK which had been cancelled during the lockdown period.

Would it just be easier for me to keep the number of days below 183?

TIA

And despite what lots of people pronounce, it has yet to be seen if any meaningful counting will be put into action from 31st December onwards.

We await feedback on that one  !

One consideration would be the tax implications. If you stay in Spain for 183 days plus in a calendar year, you would be viewed as a fiscal resident for tax purposes. I'm not sure if lockdown changes this fact.
