Hi, could anyone advice me on non resident tax please. I’ve had a holiday home in Rojales for just over one year, which I use for my own personal use, and visit several times a year. Do I need to pay non resident tax ? if so will I get a bill ?

Thank you.

If you bought your property in 2017 your non resident tax is due to be paid before the end of 2018, you will be due from the date of purchase to 31/12/2017 and will not receive a bill. We were in your position last year and as we weren't confident we used an English based company called Spanish Tax Forms Ltd, you send them your details and they email back the completed forms that you print and take to the Bank to pay, they are very helpful and only charge around 35€, Google their website, now we know what we need this year we can do it ourselves.

Hi Annie6 I also used Spanish Tax Forms Ltd - you will need the cadastral value for the property (from your local suma office - go into the website and complete the request form) and your NIE number. They have English speakers in the suma office and get back with the required cadastral value within a couple of days. Once Spanish Tax Forms have this info. and your Spanish property address, the job is done within a week. Good luck.
