Hi I wonder if anyone can advise if there is anywhere I can find out why my electricity usage is so high. I am currently being charged over 300 euros per month and we do not use electricity for heating.My supplier is Iberdrola and Im finding them less than helpful to be honest.

Kath, that amount appears extremely excessive. Only way to sort it is to call in person to your Electricity suppliers office and have it out with them.

No Way !!! That is far far too high, even being here full time and heating our property it is still well under 100€ a month, your usage would be on your bill and you can easily register to use their Virtual Office on their Website where you can monitor your usage and bills.
If you are contacting them (phone or in person) may I suggest you ask them to switch you to a smart meter asap if you dont have one already. My bills over 10years (non resident) in months not occupied were always 60/70€ per 2 months, and since having a smart meter installed, I get bills monthly as low as 20/25€. I have outside lights on timer and a fridge freezer, so there is some usage but the bills are approx 10€+ month lower than before.

If you are not having any success via the Website there is an Iberdrola Office in Guardamar that might be worth visiting.
