Hi Joanie,

In that case, you should have submitted the Modelo 720 in the first quarter of this year and you must do your Modelo 100 tax return ASAP.

Good luck 👍

Kind regards,

Kim

Thank you I’ll be on it first thing Monday

Hello everyone

Our friends who are Residents here have had their tax declaration completed for 2021-22 and they have received their final bill which is 225% increase compared to previous years.   Seems very steep to me, just hope ours isn’t as high.

Reading all the reports on talkquesada forum, seems State Pensions are taxable here.

I’m not sure if this is correct, they are waiting for a reply regarding the increase.

Be interesting to know if other state pension residents have had their tax completed and any increase incurred.

Hi Denver,

UK State Retirement pensions have been taxable in your country of residence, e.g. Spain, for as long as I can remember, so that alone wouldn't make any difference.  The rate at which NON residents are taxed on rental income has increased from 19% to 24%, but I'm not aware that the income tax rate has increased for those of us who are tax resident in Spain.  We're doing ours in a couple of weeks' time - I'll let you know how if we get a (nasty!) surprise.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim

They are waiting for the tax company to look again.  Mind you we use the same company, so waiting to hear ourselves.  Our yearly contribution since 2014 hasn’t changed a great deal - holding my breath until we hear.

Hi Kim

Just had ours Tax from same company, an increase of 175%, I asked her why, she said that the state pension has increased therefore we are now in a high bracket - seems they convert it into euros like our friends, she has asked them if it was 2020-21 exchange rate they are using or todays ?  Seems an awful increase to me, but we can’t do it ourselves so rely on them.
another chap on the TQF has never paid tax he said he has 2 police pensions, state pensions and his wife has govt pension and state etc. even though he gives them all the documents.   Have to find out who does his returns for next year.

As previous reply, we use Angela in Hondon.

We handed our paperwork in last week and it has already been completed/submitted for the year.

Fee for submitting was 125€ for a couple.

Thankyou I’ve emailed her just waiting for her to get back to me and hopefully have it all sorted soon . Hoping it won’t be complicated as we just have our home here and our pensions 🤞

Hi all

Regarding income tax return - since Joanie only became resident in December 2021, she is unlikely to have been fiscally resident for the year 2021, so she has a full year to come before having to do a tax return, giving her plenty of time to gather advice? I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm...

... wrong.

Re Modelo 720 - does the same apply? i.e. it doesn't need to be done until next year?

Cheers

Steve

Yes, I’m sure you are correct Steve. I didn’t want to tell the OP in case I was wr
