Blows cold air only..? I think you mean it recirculates the air in its surrounding area, whatever that temperature is. A fan in a room where it is 30 degrees will only blow this air around, what you feel is the same air temperature, just feels cold as it is moving around at speed

Fans do not cool or heat the air, unless they are within an air conditioning unit designed to do so

Thanks for that welcome,comment,I was a mechanical maintenance fitter,gas service engineer and a gas appliance installer and also a City and Guilds welder,with distinction in welding technology,so would be aware of the capabilities of different,however I chose to keep it simple for the ordinary pundit,yes I know it only gives an illusion of cold by compressing the air,thanks for your input,much appreciated.Patrick
