Apologies in advance for another covid related travel post.

We are due to fly tomorrow morning (fingers crossed!) and are both double vaccinated.  We have completed the location form and stored the QR code to apple wallet; got the NHS app with QR code confirming we are both double vaccinated and uploaded to Ryanair boarding passes; put the boarding passes in apple wallet.  I read on a forum somewhere that some won't accept QR electronically so have printed out the boarding passes and the locator forms and have a letter from the NHS confirming that we are both vaccinated.

It is our understanding, as it stands now, that we need to book a test 3 days before we are due to fly back in Spain and then test 2 days after we land back in the UK but have not done this yet as we are concerned that things may change (we plan to stay for 5 weeks so are taking this into account).  We know that we need to prove the 2 day test is booked to fly back to the UK but wanted to check that we don't need to book these until nearer the time.  There is so much confusing information out there and I have read both the UK and Spanish entry rules and believe this to be true but, as you may be able to tell, am trying to cover all eventualities.

Has anyone travelled recently and can share their experiencies?

Thanks in advance!

Correct in all your thinking. At lot of the places that do the antigen test to return to the U.K. are booking up really quickly, two to three weeks in advance, so make sure you book your test to return in plenty of time.

Thank you Lynn.  We plan to book it next week so that it's sorted and we are more informed about the best place to go, nearest etc.

Hi Jane,

Which country of the UK are you returning to?  The entry rules for each are not the same: for example, if fully vaccinated by the NHS in England, you only need to pre-purchase a Day 2 test, but if you´re returning to Wales, you need to buy a Day 2 and a Day 8 test.

Kind regards,

Kim

Everything keeps changing and just when you think you have ‘got it’ it changes again…. I have researched loads but felt the need to double check in case I had missed something 🤯.

Hi Lizzie,

The Gov.UK website says 72 hours for the pre-flight test and 48 hours for the Passenger Locator Form.  Can you provide the source for your info please.

Thanks,

Kim
