Just to update. My 2nd AZ jab was due on 29th June. I received a text last evening that it has been cancelled and to await further instructions. I am 64.

A friend of mine had her first AZ 4 weeks ago and has received a text offering her the Pfizer as the second vaccination if she would like it. She is 59.

That's odd, at age 59, she shouldn't have been given AZ in the first place.

I'm not surprised that there may be a delay for 60 to 64 year olds receiving their second jabs.  The EU cancelled it's forward AZ contracts and remaining supplies are being offered, in the first instance, to the younger, essential workers (teachers, police, etc.) who were also given AZ as a first vaccination.  Even though Spain latterly decided it would not give AZ to people under the age of 60, it has said to those younger ones that they can either have Pfizer as a second dose, or they can have AZ, so long as they sign a disclaimer about potential health issues from blood clots.  Personally, I'd have Pfizer, but apparently 74% of essential workers want a second AZ dose.  Rather than delay second doses for us in the 60-64 age group, I just wish they'd give us Pfizer and be done with it - looks like we're going to be the next "sandwich"!

Kind regards,

Kim

I went to our local Salud this morning as my temporary SIP card runs out this month. They said when I get another date my card will still be accepted.

Hi David,

A friend of mine is in the same situation as you - she´s resident in Spain, but called her former GP in the UK and was told that she can make an appointment for her second jab when she´s back in the UK during July.  She was advised that, once she´s in the UK, she should phone 119 and make an appointment at a walk-in vaccination centre.

Kind regards,

Kim
