I wonder if anyone can advise please. My name is Derek. My late mother owned a one bedroom apartment in San Luis. The ownership of the property is in the process of being transferred jointly to myself, brother and sister. I'm looking for a good Estate agent in the area to sell the property on our behalf. Could anyone provide the name and contact details of an Estate Agent that they have had dealings with, that provided a good or excellent service at a reasonable cost. It is important to provide an email address and that they are able to conduct all communications in written and spoken English.

Thank you.

Kind regards

Derek

Whoever might be the agent, do not hand any original documents to him and do not authorize him to request or accept any money on your behalf. An agreement should be non-exclusive and valid for a given time. His fee should be 5% of the agreed selling price, to be born by either seller or buyer or even splitted. Many agents try to cash in from both parties and even increase the selling price for their own benefit.

Good morning to you Derek...and our thoughts are with you on your sad loss.

It was only YESTERDAY, that I visited an 'agent', as I need to sell my studio apartment, a 28.000 euros...

THEIR commission?  THREE THOUSAND EUROS plus IVA!! This is on an apartment to sell at 28.000!

One question Derek...How the hell do these people sleep at night?

Bloody cowboys the LOT of 'em!

I would suggest, that YOU tread VERY carefully...

Please keep us updated...Bryan,

Hello Derek, if you,re still unsure which estate agent to use, I just wanted to add to Pete Knights comment recommending Casas Manuel estate agency in case you were hesitant. They have been the subject of a channel 4 series Place in the Sun, and I,m sure they would be extremely helpful and trustworthy to ensure their reputation remained untarnished to enable future series and of course that would also bring with it a larger audience in buyers too that watched the series. Hope this helps to assist you at a difficult time. I sympathise with your loss

Pauline.

Hi Pete, thank you very much for taking the time and effort to respond to my request. It is very much appreciated. The information you have provided is extremely useful and it is just as important to provide Estate Agents to avoid through personal experience as it is to recommend those that you have found to be honest and reasonable. The process of getting NIEs for my brother, sister and myself is well underway thank you. Unfortunately the transfer of ownership jointly to the three of us is also underway. I will contact the solicitor to see if it is too late, but I would think it is.

Pete, thank you again for all your advise. Take care.

Derek

Hi Bryan, firstly thank you very much for your kind words. We are in total agreement with regards Estate Agents and Solicitors. I realise they need to make a living, however they are are all blood suckers. I am not looking forward to going through the process of selling the property. Because before I start I know I'm going to get shafted.. However I'm trying to make sure I get shafted as little as possible. Thanks for taking the time and effort in replying to my request , it is very much appreciated.

I will tread carefully.

take care

Derek
