Chemist prices

I have just purchased 4 inhalers for my asthma which usually cost less than €5 each and have been charged €87.61 from the chemist at La Siesta. Can anyone tell me if this correct.

Hi Lynne,

I guess it's possible that high demand for asthma medication, or supply chain problems, could have forced a price hike, but more than 4x the usual cost seems extreme. Did you query it at the pharmacy?

Unless one of them is Forstair which is expensive I think you have been ripped off as there is no shortage of asthma inhalers as far as I know, last week I bought becotide and salbutamol and paid about €6 total.

The inhalers were Seretide and Ventolin have bought them before less than € 5. I have emailed the chemist to check the prices

Seretide is an expensive one, if you got it for €5 last time that was a result.

The best price I could find online was €39, not a lot different to the price Jim posted.

Hi Lynne, I had to buy a Fostair as my spare was left in UK, not realising how quickly the lockdown happened. I was charged €51. I am now arranging for my daughter to airmail them and my other meds out to me here. My 'script is for 2 salbutamol too plus 6 lots of pills, so it would cost me a lot to buy them here.
