It's that time of year again ! When the ferries are cheaper we get loads of these mobile sheds on the roads.

I was walking around the Balcon and noticed that there have been three or four over the past couple of weeks

parked on the road in front of the old swimming pool. Why can't the policia or guardia move these freeloaders

on to a proper site such as Florantilles. I'm aware that the types that drive these things don't like paying for

anything but why should the residents have to put up with these eyesores.

Just MHO of course.

Here we go ,misserable people who have nothing to do but moan. These people are not free loaders, they just enjoy living the lifestyle been free not controlled by overpriced camp sites.etc Expected to pay expensive prices for something they do now want, swimming pool noisy bars loud music etc etc. Just a peaceful nights sleep. Most are retired people who do not make lots of noise & rubbish. If the counsels had brains they could like many places in France create Aires at reasonable prices with basic amenities where they can empty waste water & toilet emptying with top up for fresh water  & overnight at a small cost ,everyone would benefit.,Shops restaurants etc. So please stop knocking people for enjoying a free retired life. I agree wholeheartedly.  My campervan cost north of £55,000, paid tax on that.  Pay massive road tax on it and I love it.  I pay high tax with my job.  Hope not too many people think I am some sort of frrrloader when I travel down there from England.....  You should try it.

Hi I live near Alicante & always enjoy chatting with the campers, great people always happy to suggest some great wild camping areas swop ideas too. Have to add it's like everything else, some give us a bad name by emptying toilet in the bushes, this is why I say counsel should realise the benifits of providing reasonable priced facilities.Problem solved.

I didn't expect to stir up a hornet's nest, but I suppose it was inevitable.

I object to these people when I drive into a car park that has been recently vacated by half a dozen vans

and see the bags of refuse and smell the contents of chemical toilets that have been dumped in the vicinity,

left for someone else to clean up.

I'm sure that this doesn't apply to all campervan owners, but when you come across the few who don't give

a damn then it can be very annoying.

CostaCruiser, unfortunately it's not only people in campervans who do things like this, there are too many incidents on Urbanisations where a few lazy people cannot be bothered to dispose of their waste as they should, but just tip it any where handy ruining the look of the area for others, and inviting vermin into the area.

Hi you are correct , its the same on our Urbanisation , people drive past the bins & are too bone idle to stop & place the rubbish in the bin, this is especially noticeable when all the holiday owner arrive over Aug & July when they also dump mattresses & all sorts of item around the bins ,leaving it looking like a tip.I would encourage the cousel to put up CCTV catch the irresponsible dumpsters fine them 1000 euros , this will pay for the CCTV & make the areas look presentable . But i am afraid they do not have the sense to nip this problem in the bud.& save much money.  .

But some people are envious cos they ain't got a   motorhome so like to target us retired motorhomers who mainly act responsibly  unfortunately like many things its the few who spoil things for the many !!

Envious, I don't think so ! Shooting off in a lorry to live like a gypsy for a couple of weeks is not my idea of a good time. I can remember when I was a child going off on holiday in a campervan and all the condensation running down the walls and all the damp bedding. No, not for me, I prefer to tour in my car stopping overnight in civilised hotels and pensions where I don't need to take my own kitchen, television and all the other comforts of home and any rubbish is properly disposed of. I don't mind paying for it all either.

Hi well thats your opinion , If you enjoy that its your choice . Your discription of motorhomes is outdated , I will end by saying , just because it isn't your cup of tea do not knock people who do enjoy the life roaming about in their wonderful home from home motorhomes. . Enjoying a life visiting many countries &  places they would never see just using overpriced hotels . Also spending cash in local shops & restaurants & helping local economies.. Full stop.

I'm only knocking those irresponsible campervanners who don't use proper licensed campsites but take over car parks usually at beauty spots and turn them into rubbish dumps. I have no argument with the responsible owners no matter how few or far between they may be.
