Can anyone advise on what is required to register with the medical centre ,both retired here and non resident.

Look folks its really simple- if you own a house and have residency and a nie you get healthcare. If you are non resident pay or

i have to say that both the above are correct.

do you own a house therfore have a n i e number and are on the padron? if not you need to be!

Take your documentation to the ayuntamiento opposite the health centre and ask them to register you. You will receive a temporary s i p card (see above) and, quite soon - albeit not in august - your permanent one sent to your permanent registered address.

Don't own a property /have n i  e number etc etc ; use your EHIC card for emergency treatment only , use the farmacia for repeat prescriptions (which are often cheaper here) and visit the health centre, asking for a appt if you have serious illness; they will not turn you away.

All as listed by previous respondents - getting registered and ' into ' the system is the key in my opinion.

I have to say, yet again, that registering on the padrón if you're non-resident is illegal.

I need to register at that health centre in san miguel. I'm autonomo so have all documents.

My only question is does anyone there speak english. I'm learning Spanish but not enough presently to register.
