Orientation.

Those of you who know San Miguel will know a new roundabout was constructed at the bottom of the hill as you leave San Miguel from the Nut House and head towards Torrevieja.
About me.I have lived on Balcon Costa Blanca urbanización for the past few years. I like the area because it’s quiet and close to the village so there’s no necessity for a car which suits me down to the ground. I can (when open), have a few 🍺.  The strange incident.   Paint a picture in your mind.
I had been to Mas y Mas to get as much shopping as I could carry in two bags which would last me for a week or three. As I have said, I do not have a car so was making my way home and as I got to approximately 100 yards from the new roundabout walking down the hill away from the Nut House, a car stopped at the side of me. Initially, before I looked, I thought it may be the police who were going to ask me why I was out in lockdown. (I know, I had two bags of shopping). WELL, when I looked, it was a woman in the driving seat and she opened the passenger window and asked first in Spanish then English if I was going onto the Urbanización. I said yes and she asked if I’d like a lift to my house. I told her I didn’t have far to go, thanked her and continued on my way down the hill. The lady drove off down the hill towards the roundabout and I expected her to turn right onto the urbanización. She didn’t, she drove all around the roundabout and came back up the hill passing me heading towards the Nut House and San Miguel Centre.
Reason for post.
I would like members thoughts, opinions, suggestions and theories as to what her motives were. Was she after my body!! or my groceries! Now, there’s food for thought!!

Tom, on the face of it ,that does seem to be a bit of a puzzler doesnt it.

I honestly would have thought it fairly unlikely a Women alone would offer a lift to a Man walking alone unless she knew him.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility her motives could well have been robbery and an accomplice could have been hiding in the back of the car or alternatively in the boot in readiness assist in the crime.

All supposition,  of course and it could ,in fact, have been a genuine offer of help, even though in doing so she would have been breaking the  present travel restrictions.

Thanks for mentioning the episode .It may well help others who encounter similar circumstances.

I bet you were shocked!   Oh all the times for someone to offer you a lift!  English speaking.....do you think she was english?   If so, perhaps she wasn’t too bright and forgot about social distancing but I doubt that.

I think you should write every detail about the car, driver, age, nationality etc.,and tell the police.  I would think she was up to no good.   No normal behaviour.

Hiya, as it happens, on reflection, she did speak Spanish with an English accent. Alas, my brain was not quick enough to tell me to take her car details even when she drove past me going back up the hill and me thinking it was strange. Probably my naivety.  Oh well, if it happens again, I’ll be sure to get the car registration.

A woman wouldn’t stop to offer a strange man a lift.  She might have been a hugger mugger after your necklace, watch or wallet.  Good thing you didn’t get in.
