UK bank accounts

I have been told that now as a resident of Spain that since brexit we can no longer allowed a UK bank acc

The correct position is that a couple of banks, nor sure which, may have changed their policy after Brexit. The vast majority have not.
Barclay CARD holders were advised their accounts wouldn't be supported after Brexit but as far as I'm aware Barclays Bank haven't.
You can have a UK bank account as a resident of Spain. Many residents do. These were accounts opened and used in the tears before moving to Spain.
What you can't do is open a new UK account if you're a Spanish resident.
If you hold, or open, an account with a UK bank using a "friends" address the bank will close it if they find out.

I have for years banked with HSBC formerly midland bank and I have lived in Spain for almost 17 years. I still have that bank account with no problem

Can you be taxed on your savings in a U.K. bank account once you become resident in Spain?

Once you are a permanent resident in Spain, you have to fill in a tax return. You have to declare any interest but if you fall below the personal allowance then the same as any country you will not pay tax
