Hi, am i correct to say you get free medical care in Spain after being resident for 12 months.
I'm afraid not. At the moment, pre Brexit, you need to pay up front for the full first year for private medical insurance as part of qualifying for the Residencia. After this and until you are in receipt of a UK state pension you can join the Convenio Especial at €65 per month each which will give you access to the Spanish healthcare system but you will have to pay full price for all prescriptions, I believe. Once you are in receipt of the state pension, you qualify for a SIP card.
