I'm a single retired lady tentatively looking to move to this area and wondered if anyone could give me their opinion of La Canada. I will of course visit sometime, just trying to narrow down my search area for now. My criteria is somewhere peaceful and green with a short drive to amenities.

La Canada, very peaceful with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside and coastline, although new properties under construction albeit at a reasonably slow pace, nice restaurant (Pimientos) within walking distance. Approx 3 minutes drive to bars/bowls club at Eagles Nest and 4/5 to Villamartin & Los Dolcis for bars, restaurants and supermarkets.

We moved from Villamartin to a quad bungalow here some 18 months ago and totally love it. The only disadvantage, no public transport so a car is a must.

Hello there,

I would completely agree with Chris. We've moved here not long ago. Relatively close to amenities, both in San Miguel and Villamartin, one good restaurant within walking distance and the area is quieti at the moment but expecting that to change in the very near future. Three developments on the go down the hill at the moment:

Patrimi "boutique homes" partly established and second phase to begin soon, Hestia are developing a site for 23 luxury villas and likewise LHS for 32 luxury villas. My view is they are small developments and would breath a little life into La Canada so environmental impact not too great. If you have dogs or like walking, running or mountain biking there are a number of paths in the nearby hills

I hope this helps answer you query.
