Just moved out to san miguel de salinas, its a little confusing as to legal process. We want to be permanent residents. What documentation is required to obtain padron, as I understand this is needed for residencia. Also please can you advise all documents required for residencia. I have been told passport, n number, padron, E111, and proof of income such as english P60.  Also where do you go to register etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there, the EHIC (E111) card would not be accepted for residency application. you need to show you have a full cover in Spain either via S1 form (if you are a pensioner) Private health insurance or if you are working and covered by the social system. please contact me at Golden leaves international for help and advice with your residency application and the documents needed.

Pete's already given the link to my residency guide, but here's the one for the padrón:

https://www.costablancaforum.com/area/almorad%C3%AD-spain-11/residency-in-almorad%C3%AD-padron-residencia-passport-advice-23/jims-guide-the-padrn-51057/

I suggest you follow my residency guide, making sure you have all the proofs required. There is a potential problem, and that's the little matter of Brexit. It's unlikely you'd now get an appointment for residency applications before the end of March, and if there's a hard Brexit, with no extension to the date, then a different procedure may be required.
