Hi my husband and I have rented an apartment from Jan - April in Santa Pola, we have never been to this area before.

Looking for  information, tips and advise on what to do and see and what the transport system is like. Also is Santa Pola flat and easy for walking??

Any information is much appreciated

Thanks

Good afternoon Mary. Santa Pola is a lovely predominantly Spanish town. It is very flat in the centre of town and along gran playa, playa Lisa and playa tamarit. Santiago Bernabau and Santa Pola del oest are a little more hilly. There are boat trips to Tabarca island, a castle in plaza glorieta, a park full of palm trees, a nature park and salt museum. There is a bus station although I'm not sure of all the destinations available from it. It's a lovely peaceful place and very easy to get around on foot. Have a lovely time when you visit. Russ

Hi we have just got back from Santa Pola today it was great 24 deg very sunny.

i walked for 2 hours on Sunday morning on the front passed playa Levante and it was all flat there is good food in lots of bars and you should have a great time.

Bus times for winter from the Airport to Alicante bus department  then you have to get a Bus from there to Santa Pola.

Stops at El Altet Arenales Gran Alicante Think you can get times from www.movilidad.vectalia.es

thanks mike

Polamar Hotel

The Spanish/English exchange meet up every week in Santa Pola.  Pop along to meet new people and practice some Spanish.  If you have a Spanish friend or neighbour, please encourage them to come too! We always need more Spanish speakers.

Thursdays from 8pm.  Take the lift to floor 5 cafeteria.

Best wishes

Hi,

Thank you for the information, do we need to book the lessons before we go or do you just turn up at the hotel.

Thanks,

Mary

Hi Mary

The meetings at the Polamar hotel are not Spanish lessons .... just assorted people living in Santa Pola through the winter 😀. Various nationalities come but mostly English and some Spanish . We try to help each other with both languages !  Worth coming along to chat and network .

Best wishes

Anne

Hi guys,

Santa Pola is a lovely place and one of it's many merits is that the majority of it is flat. It's possible to walk from Santa Pola Este in the east of the town all the way up to Tamarit in the west, approx 6km along the beach or promenades without any incline at all.

The top of the town is a little uphill from the beach/marina area but nothing too much.

Mostly spanish people resident in the town but we have always found them lovely and friendly.

Public transport (buses) will get you from Santa Pola north to Alicante, south to areas like Torrevieja and west to Elche all from the bus station in town, call into the bus station and ask at the enquiry desk for timetables. There are two main local bus services around town that will get you to Santa Pola Este or to Playa Lisa/Tamarit but they will be on 'winter timetables until June.

Have a great time folks, I think you'll love it.

Paul.
