Hi Santa Poleros,

Been meaning to ask for a while now, what is reason for occasional very loud aerial explosions or bangs over Santa Pola? We have seen puffs of smoke drifting away after the shells or fireworks go off. Fireworks for some fiesta perhaps? Can be morning or evening.

Just curious.

Another long shot is pigeon racing is still a big thing in these parts of spain and they use loud flares/ fireworks for the start and finish of races?  When the wind is in the right direction it may be this?
