Hi, my wife and I have been visiting santa Pola for a few years and now we are looking to explore retiring in Santa Pola and we know and love Playa Lisa and Tamarit quite well so initially, we are looking there.

We are visiting Santa Pola mid Sept for a few weeks to do some due diligence on moving, residency, Spanish classes, taxes, house purchases, long-term rentals, health care, dentists etc..etc and to review options with some estate agents and look at some properties.

Do you live in or near Playa Lisa or Tamarit and fancy meeting us for a coffee and a chat, we'd really love to get some views on living in the area from people who actually live there and we are keen to make some local contacts.

Thanks for reading, Paul & June (UK)

Hi Guys

We bought in Gran Playa, Santa Pila almost 2 years ago and couldn't be happier.

We have found lots of lovely expats here and found several group activities.

We go to language exchange classes twice a week which not only let's us mix with expats but Spanish friends too.

Happy to meet up for a coffee just send us a message.  00447940242065

Hi, my husband and I retired here almost 3 years ago to Gran Alacant.  We originally planned on Santa Pola but decided that Gran Alacant  had a greater mix of nationalities and ways of getting to know people.  There are fewer expats there although it is a beautiful place.  We did our own NIE but have had help with other things such as Taxes.  One of the staff who used to work for our Lawyer does translating and taxes etc at a very, very reasonable price and is a lovely young girl who speaks several languages.  We have been fortunate/unfortunate enough to require health care here (I had an accident while visiting our daughter in UK) and it is excellent and so much quicker than anything in UK.  If atleast one of you receives a UK state pension then you are entitled to the same free health care as Spanish people.    We have good health centre, library etc and many place offer Spanish lessons.  We would be happy to meeting up with yourselves and any others who may be able to help you.  We have found the as in UK word of mouth recommendations are the best.  My number is 693014128 (mobile) email [email protected].  Hope you enjoy your visit.  B

Bobbie

Our thanks to everyone who replied and/or messaged me privately on this topic, we've been delighted with the responses and at this rate we'll need to stay until November just to get around to meeting everybody...!

Regards, Paul & June.

Hi Peter & Stella, just to let you know, we are in Santa Pola now, staying in Playa Lisa.

If you fancy a coffee then let us know any good days & times that suit you and if you have a favourite cafe/restaurant.

We are here for another 3 weeks.

Best regards, June & Paul.
