Hi all. Hope your weather is better than it is here in the UK. I shall be coming to Santa Pola on 15 Feb for 2 weeks and would love to meet anyone living there for a cuppa and a chat.

(I'm on the right in the photo attached but no longer have the red hair!)

Lovely town. Plenty of variety (shops, cafes, beaches etc). Smallish expat and Scandinavian community. But we don't really like more people to know about it!

Thanks for that . A good strategy lol . Are there any good areas to buy in . Thinking of going over soon and interested in views on that .

Well worth having a look around the place.

Location is very much personal preference. Keeping close(ish) to the town centre is handy, especially out of season when the outlying shops and bars may shut down.

We are very happy with an apartment in Gran Playa on the western side, just 4 or 5 blocks out from the edge of town (and an easy flat walk). Possibly more variety of apartments/houses in Santa Pola East, though can become a fair way out and hillier.

In apartment blocks with no lifts we wouldn't go above level 2.

Good hunting!

It depends on what you like to do and where you are staying. Santa Pola is a lovely, busy, friendly port town. If you are on the far west (Playa Lissa, Tamarit) or east (Santa Pola Este), then for two weeks it will be a beach-style break, but it's not really warm enough for sunbathing and there's not much going on at this time of year.

However...if you are in the centre (near Plaza Glorieta - see pic) and you like wandering around the busy bit between the Castillo and the marina, there are lots of small shops, millions of bars and even in January everyone is sitting outside. I went down to the harbour area yesterday (Sunday morning at 12:00) and the whole area was packed with people of all ages outside drinking beer, coffee, lunch (see pic - 3 course Sunday lunch with 2 beers €15), reading newspapers, chatting - the atmosphere was brilliant.

Won't be there in Feb, I'm heading back to the UK for couple of weddings, back in March.

Have fun!

Hi. I’m back in Scotland.  I hope you enjoy your holiday. There are lots of lovely people in SP. I hope you manage to Meetup with a few.

Anne.
