Hello everyone, does anyone know for sure what is happening at Alicante airport, regarding passengers coming from UK? My sister and husband are due to fly here in a week or so, they are both elderly and have had their 2 vacinations, do they just show proof of this or what? Thank you all in advance👍😊 Michael.

Hi Dixiedean,
As things currently stand, Spain only requires UK citizens to complete the Spanish Health Form:
However, because of the exponential increase in rates of the Delta variant in the UK, Germany is encouraging other EU countries to insist on a negative PCR test. Spain isn't mandating this at the moment, but it's worth keeping an eye on developments in case things change:

Given how quickly things can change, I think they should carry their proof of double vaccination when they travel.
Kind regards,
Kim

Also, before they depart, check their insurance policies.
Some friends in their 70's that were coming with me from the UK weren't covered on their insurance policies. This is not only for Covid related issues, but for anything that might happen to them whilst on holiday due to the "amber" status and travelling against government advice.
I think they did look into boosting their cover but it was nearly £500 for each couple!
We've all changed our flights for later in the year when the travel status may change.

Staysure have a payable extension to their policies, it covers for flying against FCDO advice for essential travel only.

Hi Michael we arrived in Alicante airport 2 weeks ago, when you go through customs they now stamp your passport ( if its UK)
Then when you go to the baggage area you hand in your Spanish health form they scan it and if correct you are free to go
