Hopefully going to phase 1 monday

Hi DLR,

As a fellow Santa Polero forcibly exiled in Scotland at this time, could you please tip us off if the Valencia region does in effect get elevated to Fase 1 this evening?

Then we can book flights to get back ASAP, before prices go through the roof.

Can't come soon enough!

Regards

Ray

Santa Pola has moved to phase 1 today. A few bars / cafes have reopened with restrictions.   Lots of people about this morning.

The chino shops were still shut but ferreterías are open now without appts.  Florista open. Tedi open.   Long way to go yet but it’s a start

Hello Cfell63 & Dlr also,

thank you for the news from the front, I heard that you are our "ear to the ground over there" while we are trapped over here!

Must be nice to see at least some of those shops we take for granted, being open again.

I didn't know that you needed appts to go to the ferreterias, that must have been a bit of a nuisance. But better than not open at all I suppose.

Nice to see more folk about & hear voices too.

Is the front still dead with the restaurants being shut? and no free WiFi at Montaditos??

Maybe tomorrow will bring more good news, take care, all of you there.

regards

Ray

The bars along near the Polamar are shut..they are part of a group who said they refuse to open until its safe and viable for them to do so.

I didn’t go through the glorieta today so unsure about up there. It’s on my todo list tomorrow. Lol
Some of the bars along by the marina were open ..laico, japonica? the ice cream place,  Rincon de Lunas Next to Tedi, Gorbea on the back street, Good Mood bar along they other side of town,  and a couple more. The place up at the roundabout by the farmacia was open.
So here and there. The chiringuitos along the front are still closed.  I get the impression some places may open as the week progresses as they finalise “conditions” .

The police were checking along by the marina in the morning , making sure conditions were being upheld.

It was reasonably busy out but everyone for the most part,  is behaving pretty well!

Thanks for the "as it happens" report Cfell63, this is really appreciated, and I do know each and every one of the joints you named!

Our flat is at the Masymas roundabout facing the Narcea restaurant, and should be unoccupied right now. I say should be because I read just  the other day that several unoccupied homes on the Costa del Sol have been taken over by squatters.

Think I will ring the doorbell before I put my key in the lock, when and if we get back there!

Please continue the local reports, much appreciated!

Hasta luego
