Right now, you can't come.

Only Spanish citizens and those holding legal Residencia can come.

Other than that, you need a negative Covid test (not older than 72 hours) and  QR form.

I think it's a bit of a lottery, are you coming from the UK ?

In which case you will find it difficult to get out from any departure point unless as Kelvin say's you are  either a citizen or resident.

However if you are already in the EU then your passage will probably be unhindered, the borders are currently not closed but there are restrictions of entry and exit within individual communities, how this is being policed seems to be the lottery.

There are also time restriction on non essential travel within each community. Most are 22.00 to 06.00. So check before you travel.

If you are in the EU or somehow get there then covid test 72 hrs and QR form required. A lot of people from all over Europe are still travelling to and from successfully.

Good luck !

Hi,

As kelvin1960 says, the Spanish gov has advised non residents cannot travel into Spain . You will be refused boarding. This is due for review at the end of February.
The UK gov pages state international travel should not be happening without a very good reason. They do not consider travelling to your holiday home reason sufficient.

At this end, Santa Pola itself has seen an marked increase in numbers of infection- 104 in the space of a few days. That’s more than we had in the first 3 months of pandemic.  Alicante province and Alicante city numbers  are getting way out of hand.  Elche ICU is feeling the pressure.

We seem to be edging toward another hard lockdown. Currently in Santa Pola , under València rules, bars & restaurants have to close at 5pm.  During the day , capacity is supposed to be reduced as well as in shops and businesses. No more than 4 people at a table. No smoking on “terraces”. No travel across the “state” borders to say Murcia, for example.
Yesterday Murcia, I think, decided you can’t meet with people who don’t live in the same house.  So things are slowly getting worse.

I think the best you can do for now is make loose plans for late March when the cold weathers gone - it’s been cold in town even by Spanish standards ! :)

Hopefully numbers will have settled by then and we can breath a little better!
when it is safe for you to  come, Santa Pola will be here waiting !

Clearly, this will depend when you drove and the reasons you had for doing so but the Valencian borders are closed.

If the reason for your travel wasn't permitted, the fact that you have managed to do it does not mean that it is actually legal.

Please could you provide an alternative link to that which I provided which shows that unrestricted vehicle access is permitted to the Valencia province.

In addition to the detail provided by Kimmy in the post I linked to, this is the news article from El Pais confirming extension to the restrictions on entry:

Meanwhile, the regional borders will remain sealed to all but essential travel until January 31, in a two-week extension of the previous deadline. The Valencia region was the only one that did not allow travel across regional lines to meet with family for holiday gatherings between December 23 and January 6. The new measures were announced by Valencian premier, Ximo Puig, following a meeting to analyze the latest epidemiological data in the Mediterranean region. “The transmission of the virus is growing exponentially and requires a response from the Generalitat [Valencian government]”, said Puig, adding that schools are still scheduled to open on January 7 as planned.

I fail to see what the UK government website can offer as it does not provide the information that actually applies in respect of the Valencian community and their entry requirements at the present time.

In any case, this is what is stated at the top of the page you linked to:

Under current UK COVID-19 restrictions, you must stay at home. You must not leave home or travel, including internationally, unless you have a legally permitted reason to do so. Check the rules that apply to you in EnglandScotlandWales and Northern Ireland.

If you had a valid reason for travel that allowed you to leave the UK then I suspect that in most circumstances that same reason could justify entry into the Valencian community.

Otherwise, I think you just got lucky while breaching both the UK regulations and the Valencian government regulations (and probably a few others in between) and that is not something that should be encouraged or condoned.

I see little point in dragging this on but for the sake of clarity for anyone else reading this thread, the Valencian borders were closed pre Christmas and that was a decision by the Valencian government and so would not be reported on the UK gov website.

If you didn't have a valid reason for entry you breached that restriction and simply got lucky and that should not be commended.

Yes I agree, do not be guided by anyone who is all but encouraging you to side step the rules.

The rules are for everyone, not just for some!

Cheers
