Can anyone help with an opinion on specific locations in Santa Pola town (not Gran Alicant) which may be better avoided in our search to purchase an apartment in the town?

We are already interested in a property in the San Fernando/Zorilla zona. We just cannot seem to pin down a straight opinion from the inmobilaria or the few locals we questioned.

We believe there are some pockets in Santa Pola North that are best avoided. Is this one of them?

Thanks in anticipation

There’s a lot of new builds going up there so it may raise the profile of that “pocket” .  It’s not somewhere I’d want to be …too far from the beach & town centre  for me but convenient for the bus station. Pm me the address and I’ll check with my Spanish friends for their opinions .

Thanks. Maybe you are thinking a little too far north. The property is in the area near the crosses of San Fernando, Victoria and Soledad.

Hi, agree with Cfell63 in being a bit wary of that area, best thing is you need to go out and see the area, santa pola is a big place now, we've had our house there for 7 years and still haven't managed to explore it !

Gran Alacant and Santa Pola del Este are the "better" areas of Santa Pola.

Personally I do not find the area you have mentioned to have anything that would attract me to go and live there.

If the reason is budget I suggest you look along the areas behind Playa Lisa, Gran Playa and Playa Tamarit, say 100/150 metres back from the beach.

I would never say GA was a better part of Santa Pola ! Lol It’s all really personal taste . As for me, personally , you couldn’t pay me to live in Gran Alacant.  There are some nice properties in del este but you really need a car …a 30 -40 minute walk into town in the height of summer isn’t fun.  Tamarit / Playa Lisa is another “isolated”  area for those without a car.

You have to work out what you need …holiday or full time ? House or apartment ?  Want to be within 5 minutes walk to the sea? Want to be in the midst of it all or slightly quieter ?…can you manage 4 flights of stairs ? ( lots of those cheaper properties have no lift! ) …and then set your budget & see what it gets you.

Dear Cfell

Your views concur with my own. However, as you say, it is all personal taste. Everyone to their own.
