I am buying a new sofa and chair and want to get the council in santa pola or someone else to dispose of my old one. The shop I am purchasing my new sofa from said they will deliver and take my old sofa downstairs to the street. Do I have to contact the council for this service?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Jackie

In Torrevieja,we had to inform the local council, and get a code number.

They would not collect from the house, and said we would have to get the items to our nearest bin on a main road.

Why don't you see if a local  charity wants the items?

Good luck

Yes ..you need to contact urbaser via WhatsApp on +34 686 80 13 23. You can text them your address and what you have to get rid of.  Use google translate if your Spanish isn’t sufficient .  They will text you back with a time/ day to put it out the front of the building  . The sofa company may contact them for you but to be sure , send a text yourself

That's useful, thank you. I'm just worried that when the sofa company deliver the new one and take the old one down to the street, that urbaser might not be able to collect straight away and the sofa and chair will be left out on the street! I'll contact them anyway and tell them when the sofa will be ready to collect. Thanks for your help.

That's what you have a reference number for?

Any probs that occur,it proves it's not your fault, your ref number is your safeguard.
