Hi to Santa Pola members of the forum, from sunny(yes-really!) Scotland

Can anyone tell us if or when the SP Saturday market might be operational again after this CV crisis.

Can't wait to get back to our wee bolthole there.

Best wishes

Ray

Hello,

Market is on today but not to full capacity. I spotted a couple of pitches last week too. Only a couple, as I say, so the increment this week is anything to go buy my calculation would be that in another two weeks it would be back to full or almost full capacity.

Markets in Orihuela Costa have reopened with all the required safety regulations and only for food and other perishable products.

Thank you, John. Very helpful.

OP - Sorry I can't be more specific. I see the market from my balcony but could not say what type of stalls have reopened.

I had to laugh this morning the presenter ( for want of a better word ) on the local radio said Playa Flamenca Market was open to sell food and other stuff that rots, at least I said perishable products.

Perishable - much more delicate. :-)

PS Feel free to ask whenever you want. All I have to do is look out the window.

Hello Ray,

I live in Santa Pola.

We will go to "phase 1" this Monday 18/05/2020, which means less restrictions and hopefully shops and markets reopening.

However, Spain has set a quarantine of 14 days (I think) for all visitors of any country. So you might be able to get to Spain, still having to stay in your apartment, hotel or camper-van!

Cheers,

Gilbert
