It's naive and nauseating.
An inflation linked annuity from age 60 at the rate they have suggested (which also has the potential to pass at least in part to a spouse on death) would cost in the region of £750k to £1m.
It is simply stupid to suggest that the UK could afford that.
Pie in the sky economics proposing petitions such as this which add absolutely zero value to the political debate. Those signing them do nothing to advance the polticial debate either - whatever debate that they want with such ideas.

No George, that's an ongoing problem (but not a petition) that the UK government haven't got the backbone to sort out!!!

I might start one suggesting that the state pension should only become payable at 100.

Most UK Gov. petitions are "rejected" & for obvious reasons ( it's interesting to 😂 read them). The "lip-service" petition format began after the last referendum. One of the 1st, (after) the EU exit was "rejected", as it was already "set in stone". At least, the requisite number of petitioner's know that UK parliament has, at least, something to debate. That is, I suppose, democracy. V
