Hello  All

Im a Newbie to the Forum, and am looking at information regarding bus services in and around Sax,

we are looking at houses on the outskirts of the town 5km ish away, and are wondering are buses available into the town, as this will be a factor onto where we purchase, as we wish to avoid buying a car (immediately)?

Appreciate any information anyone has.

regards

Pauline.

Hi I live on the outskirts of Salinas and there is a local bus Salinas to Sax limited but if your looking for further afield you can catch the sinus which takes you down as far as Alicante Google sinus for timetables

I think you will struggle without a car. I don´t live near Sax but judging on Albatera, which is just slightly larger than Sax, but less remote, buses don´t operate as in UK where local towns have a network of buses bringing people from outlying areas into the town. This only happens in places such as Alicante, where workers need to get in from the suburbs and Torrevieja to link up all the urbanizations. Unless the property you are looking at is very close to the bus routes, it is going to be very difficult to survive.
Doing a general scan for 5 kms around Sax, it looks very rural so there are a lot of other factors to consider about the property. Does it have 10,000 m2 of land if it is classified as a rural property? Is it legal? Does it have a habitacion certificate, is it on mains water and sewage? If bottled gas is used, can you get deliveries, do you need bottled drinking water (very heavy to trudge 5 kms with)? Is there heating because you will need it? Is the property at risk from flash flooding? Post delivery is rare in rural areas meaning a trip to the local town to collect it and even if you give GPS to courier firms, you may well end up having to meet them in town to collect any internet orders, that´s if the company even accept your order in the first place. How will you get to a doctor?

We love living in the countryside but I wouldn´t even consider it without a car.
