Hello

Does anyone know if you still need a licence to burn garden rubbish or do you just need to adhere set times and dates?

Many thanks

Back in the day everyone used to burn garden and other waste.

But now we all know about Global Extinction, YES.

I know this is not the answer you want to hear.

If everyone went the route of burning then once idyllic clean air locations will be polluted as much as large cities and if plastic sacks are burned  intentionally or by accident gases with significant health risks will be released.

Please try to find better ways to deal with garden waste
.   🤔

The licence from the town hall stipulates what can be burned. Definitely not plastic bags. It includes cuttings from gardens and that type of thing. There are different licences for other types of waste, tightly controlled by the local authority. My garden produces masses of olive tree cuttings each year and I would be overrun with them if they weren't burned. . If anyone wants to collect them so I don't have to burn them they are welcome to them.

As Adrian says. Simply go into the ayuntamiento. it´s only for fire prevention information.

Villas why is it simple?  Ayuntamientos all over this Earth have stopped issuing licenses to burn waste.   Only fire prevention?  Not any more.  We have to stop burning waste.

People need to find out how to compost garden waste even hardwood cuttings.  In short amount of time in the hot climate of Spain,  a large pile of garden waste will disintegrate.   We can no longer make excuses for our lack of solutions.

Maria

Maria, with respect,

Hi. after almost 20 years In the area where I live, growing many olives, almonds & issued a waste (warning) from the aircraft vigilance area from the Ayuntamiento years ago from NOT disposing of the cuttings, hedge rows surrounding mine & other´s overgrown country-side for preventing a fire safety, I decided to abide with the law, not write it.

Hello Villas,

With respect to you and your many helpful posts.
20 years ago and until recently as we know,  everyone burned waste in the countryside.   Laws have changed.  People HAVE to understand what is the right thing to do.   We don’t need to write laws.  We need to make efforts to listen and act.

   Protect environment.

Sorry Villas I do not understand what you say.   Can you explain?

Maria
