Home Insurance

We have just paid 456.16 euro for home insurance, i thought it a bit dear, what do others usually pay or is this about right.
What is the cover for?
My insurance is for a detached villa with a pool and contents cover for less than that.
This is for home and contents.(5 bed villa with pool)

If you purchased it through your banks you will have probably paid 20% more than you needed to
TBH that does not seem too bad, I paid about €100 less than that for a 3 bed.
I pay a bit more here than I paid in the UK for a bigger property and contents as the security aspects need to be a higher spec here to get discounts. An alarm system monitored and linked to the police, double glazing etc would probably bring the premium down.
