Hi all, i'm brand new to your forum so hello and thanks for letting me on. A couple of questions; how many Brits live in and around Sax? and also are there decent public transport links to Alicante. Bit random i know, we are thinking of moving over. Many thanks.

Sorry, but I live somewhat off Sax and can't help you with your first question. Regarding public transport, you should seriously consider your proper means. There are buses and trains, services are rather scarce and everything but fast and reliable comparing with UK.

Hi there

There are a good many Brit’s in and around Sax so you will be fine if that side. As for transport there is a bus that runs roughly every hour to Alicante and usually last bus back is about 9pm. Not sure what type of propert you are after but if want to be near the town amongst spanish with Brit’s nearby we have a lovely 2/3 bed townhouse currently being renovated inc new wiring, plumbing etc with rear patio with view to the castle and large front covered terrace overlooking the town. Let me know if you want to know more and all the best with your move

Regards John

Hello and welcome. There is a regular bus service from Sax to Alicante which is relatively cheap compared to the UK.

Sax has a train station and some trains stop there but not all. Villena (8km up the road) also has a train station where they all stop. Just outside Villena is the AV (Alto Velocidad) high speed train which goes both to Alicante and gets to Madrid in two and a half hours. These run about every hour and I can see the track from where I live. Very handy for a day out as the Madrid station is very central.

There are less Brits here now than there used to be and both my neighbours have moved back. I don't think many live in town though. I have met quite a few in the many restraurants/coffee places on the dual carriageway through Sax.

My place is available to buy. It's just outside Sax and we have 6000 sq m.  Please send a private message if you want some more details.
