While my internet is actually working, I would just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and healthy new year.

It seems you might be having trouble with your internet.  I live just outside Sax and am with Cableworld/Aireworld and it very seldom goes off and only then for short periods.

Just a suggestion.

Hi Hazel,

Good to hear from you and Best Wishes to you too. Let’s hope 2021 sees the end of this virus. I too am with Aireworld/Cableworld and am quite happy.

Hi Hazel. Thank you for your good wishes. Hoping 2021 is kind to you. Be happy (easier in the sun than the cold, grey UK at the moment 😩😁). All the best.

Jackie and Bex

At last, I am back. I am with Cableworld/Aireworld too.  I had a new router to go with the new contract just before Christmas. This problem seems to have been the thing in the middle of the dish that focuses the signal.  You don't realise how much you rely on something until you don't have it.  I might not live my life surgically attached to my phone or PC but I have really missed them.

Hello Hazel

Just out of interest, a couple of years ago an insect crawled into a small space in the middle of the dish & made a nest blocking the signal until a knowledgable engineer, who had experienced this before, resolved the problem. ....who knew  ha!

Cheers

That could have gone on for a while if you hadn't been lucky enough to get someone who knew about it. Very lucky indeed. Although maybe not for the insect that thought it had found the perfect home.

Yes, the little so-and-sos like a nice home. The simple answer is to cover the end of the LNB with cling film.  It will not effect the signal.

I will last several months.

The dish is about 6m up a pole. No way am I trusting my life to a ladder against it.  Let the little monsters move in.
